Step Sing 2010

This past weekend my momma, my daddy, and I loaded up the van and trekked to Birmingham, Alabama to visit my brother, David and to see Step Sing 2010. For those of you who do not know, my brother transferred back to Samford after one semester at "Sodom" aka USC. (That's what he calls it. I'm still a USC fan. Go Cocks!) Anyways, we got to Birmingham on Friday afternoon, went out to eat, and then went to the Friday performance of Step Sing. I wanted to go on Saturday night, but when I was ordering tickets something went wrong and all the tickets ended up selling out. Tickets go on sale at 8 am Birmingham time one day at the beginning of February, I believe. If you aren't online right when they go on sale, you won't get tickets. I was online then, but internet malfunctions happened. It's a long story. I was at school. I cried. Therefore, I didn't get tickets for Saturday. Well, the Friday night show was great. David performed in Step Sing last year in the group Dudes A Plenty. They came in second last year, but truthfully, I believe they should have won! Their theme was The Show and they were dressed up like clowns. This is their video from last year.

Well this year Dudes A Plenty won first place at Step Sing 2010! Unfortunately, David wasn't able to be in the group this year because he wasn't at Samford during fall semester to sign up for Dudes A Plenty. Their theme for this year was The Dream and they were dressed like rockstars. It was great! Here is the video for this year.

On Saturday, we met David for lunch at a wonderful restaurant called Momma Goldberg's Deli. It's great! I wish we had one in Spartanburg or Greenville. Then we took him back to his dorm and we went back to our motel so David and I could do homework. I was sick the whole time with a kidney infection AND bronchitis so I went back to the motel and tried to sleep. I'm just now starting to feel better. Saturday night we went out to this GREAT Japanese steakhouse for momma and daddy's birthdays. It was so yummy! Sorry I didn't take any pictures. I slept a lot of the trip. Haha. Hopefully, when David comes home for his spring break we'll take some pictures. I can't wait!

By His Grace.
