This Mess Called Life

So... where to begin...
I haven't updated my blog in forever... mainly because I have had so much going on.

I finally moved out on my own on October 5th. I moved into a one bedroom apartment on Pelham Rd. I loved it... well most of it. The guy who lived below me smoked and i could smell it up through the floors. He'd also played really loud music late at night. I was a little lonely so I got a 12 week old beagle puppy named Gracie. She's so precious and beautiful.

A couple weeks after I moved into my apartment, I was driving home from work on I-85 and had a wreck. It was raining and the car in front of me stopped all of a sudden and I ran into it. Since my car was so old, we didn't have collision insurance on it so I was going to have to pay at least $2500 worth of repairs. The car wasn't worth that much so I bought a new car. It's a 2004 silver Kia Optima. I got a really good deal on it too. I LOVE it!

Onto the the next big trial in my life...
On November 4th, my life was changed while I was walking into my apartment. I was on my way back from my parents' house. I had my hands full and my puppy on her leash beside me. While I was unlocking my door, two black men ran up behind me and said "Give me your money!" That's right... I was robbed and to top it off, it was at gunpoint. After they told me to give them my money, I lied and said that I didn't have any. The guy then said "Give me your pocketbook." I gave him my pocketbook and they both ran off. I went in my apartment and freaked out. I called my parents and they told me to call 911. The policeman arrived about 15 minutes after I got robbed. In those 15 minutes, the robbers had already robbed another apartment complex. (As of last week, there have been about 14 robberies in Greenville county by the same robbers. My robbery was the first.) In my pocketbook I had $350 dollars, my ID and credit cards, checks, social security card, my digital camera and my ipod. I had so much money on me because I had just gotten paid $300 dollars that morning for my old car. I was totally devastated and pretty much still am. I've met up with the investigator and he said they put out a warrant for the arrest of one guy. They think he's involved. We'll see what happens.

Next...
Let's see... The day after I was robbed I called the apartment manager to tell her what had happened. She was sooo sympathetic and apologetic. I told her that I was planning on moving out and she said that would be fine. She said I could break the lease and she would pro-rate my rent since I had just paid a month of rent 4 days earlier. I was pretty happy about that because I did not want to live there anymore. I don't feel safe there and now the robbers know where I live. This past weekend my parents, my brother, and our friend Brian moved almost everything out of my apartment while I was working. On Sunday, we moved the rest of my stuff out with plans to break the lease on Monday. After work on Monday I went up to the apartment office and planned on cancelling my lease. The property manager informed me that she's no longer going to let me break the lease and won't pro-rate my rent. In order to break my lease, I now have to pay $485. Her reasoning is that since other places have been robbed I could have gotten robbed anywhere. She said I should be fine now because the police are going to drive through the complex "every once in a while." I was robbed for crying out loud. I don't feel safe there. I then told her I had moved all of my stuff out and she said well I could just pay her $485. I said I'd get back to her. As I was leaving she said "Tell your parents I said hello and have a happy thanksgiving." I said "yeah, whatever." So now we're looking for a good lawyer. Any ideas?

So I've had a lot of ups and downs these past few weeks. I need a lot of prayer... desperately. I hope everything turns around soon.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Tomorrow is the start of something new

So... I'm proud of myself. I signed up for a membership at the Golden Strip YMCA today. I have to lose weight... absolutely, positively have to. It's only 46 dollars a month and less than 10 minutes from where I work. I'm planning on buying a house within the next few months and the Y is in the viscinity of where I'd like to live. (FYI I want to buy a house after I get hired on fully by Cox Custommedia. I'm a temp right now.) So I'm planning on working out before work. That's the plan and I'm planning on sticking to it. I think I'll feel so much better throughout the day if I work out before work, especially if I swim some too. I start tomorrow morning, bright and early. Say a little prayer. :)

WARNING: Diary of a disgruntled white women

Sometimes I feel like I do everything I can to help people out, but they still walk all over me. I hate when people don't appreciate what you've done for them and expect you to do even more. I also hate when people get mad at you because they want you to do more than you already do, but my gosh... a girl can only do so much! I'm washing my hands of this whole situation.

I know none of this makes since, but if you only knew...

Distance makes the heart grow fonder...

Whoever came up with the phrase, "Distance make the heart grow fonder," knew exactly what they were talking about. I have 4 bestest best friends. Two of them live about an hour away from me, one 1 1/2 hours away, and another that lives 7 1/2 hours away. You never know how much you miss someone until you don't see them for months at a time. One of my best friends is getting married in January and I am soooo excited! I'm in the wedding and I get to go down to St. Augustine a week before the wedding to help with all the final arrangements. I love St. Augustine!

And I love my best friends...

So I don't win the award for best blogger...

I said I was going to try to update this thing regularly, but with the way work has been, it hasn't really been a possibility. For the past few weeks, I had been working 9 hour days Monday through Saturday. Luckilly, this Monday we were able to go back to working 8 hour days. I'm praying that we don't have to work this Saturday. Even though I love my job, a girl can only take so much! It does get tiring sitting in front of a computer for 8 or 9 hours at a time.

I know you probably don't care what my desk looks like, but I'm going to post pictures of it anyways. :)

My cute little desk. It was decorated with balloons and confetti for my birthday.

This is my money tree my co-worker Tess gave me for my birthday.

My best friend Lauren gave me those flowers for my birthday.

So on another note, Brianna is now 2 weeks and 3 days old. She's just so beautiful. Here are some new pictures of her.

On yet another note, I've met the man I wanna marry... haha well I guess that's jumping a little too much into it. I won't go into details on here, but I will let you readers know—if there are any readers out there—if anything happens. He's just one of the most Godliest men ever. I just pray that he's the one God has planned for me, but I know that if he isn't, God has someone even better out there for me. :)

Hi! I'm new here...

Hi! I'm Elizabeth... I'm new here.
I've decided to start a blog on here instead of using the one on Myspace. I found out a lot of people I went to high school and college had them so I decided to join the craze. I'm not guaranteeing that I'll write on here regularly, but I'm sure going to try my hardest. I'm also not going to guarantee that everything I post will be interesting, but it most likely will mean something to me. So on to my first post...

Well I just finished my 5th week at Cox Custommedia. I absolutely love it there! I am working there through a temp agency and cannot wait to get hired on through Cox. I'm a formatter (aka Layout Designer). I sit at a Mac all day long and design calendars and newsletters for Assisted Livings throughout the US, Canada, and parts of Europe. I'm just designing marketing tools for 2 different assisted living companies This past week has been really hard though. August is a really busy month for the company because so many projects are due for September. Monthly calendars are due, of course, but then quarterly calendars and quarterly and bimonthly newsletters are due as well. So in order to get everything in on time, we're working 9 hour days Monday through Friday, as well as 9 hour days on Saturdays. That's 54 hours a week and they are encouraging us to work more. That's a lot of working, but luckily I like my job and my paycheck isn't going to stink either. :)

On a happier note, my God-daughter Brianna Elizabeth Keasler was born on Monday! She was born on 8/6/2007 (just missed my birthday by a day!) and weighed 7lbs. 3 ozs. She was 20 inches long. She was ready to come, but Mommy's body wasn't so they had to perform an emergency c-section. LeeAnn and her beautiful daughter are at home now and everything is a-ok. They went to the doctor today and Brianna checked out great. I love that baby girl! I know I love a lot of babies, but there's just some connection I have with Brianna. I mean she's like my niece and is kinda like a namesake. She shares my name and was kinda named after me, but there are a lot of other people in her family named Elizabeth too. I just love her and her mommy so much! Click here to see some pictures of Brianna.

Well I need to get some sleep. Gotta work a lovely 9 hour day tomorrow. :(
